📌 Texas Real Estate Consumer Notices (Required Info) — Posted for You
If you’re buying, selling, or renting in Texas, you’ll see two important documents referenced a lot. I keep them posted so you can easily review them anytime:
⸻
1) TREC Consumer Protection Notice (CPN)
This is a public notice from the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) that helps consumers:
✅ Learn how to verify a license (agent/broker/inspector)
✅ Understand how to file a complaint with TREC if needed
✅ Get info about the Real Estate Recovery Trust Account (may apply in certain court-judgment situations)
✅ See key notes about real estate inspectors and insurance/liability items
⸻
2) Information About Brokerage Services (IABS)
This form explains who represents whom and what that actually means, including:
✅ Broker vs. sales agent
✅ The broker’s basic duties to clients and customers
✅ Types of representation: Seller/Landlord, Buyer/Tenant, and Intermediary (with required written consent)
✅ Reminder: commissions/fees aren’t set by law and are negotiable
✅ It’s informational only—it doesn’t require you to hire anyone
⸻
🔗 Where to find them:
I have both the Consumer Protection Notice and the IABS form posted/linked on my business website/profile so you can review them easily.
I’m big on clarity + transparency + no surprises. If you have questions about representation (who works for who), what “intermediary” means, or anything in these forms—drop a comment or DM me.
