A Request for Quotation (RFQ) Writer is a professional responsible for preparing and compiling requests for quotations from suppliers or vendors. This role is 100% remote and vital in procurement and supply chain management, where precise communication is crucial. Here's a detailed description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting RFQs: Create detailed and clear RFQ documents outlining the products or services required, including specifications, quality standards, delivery timelines, and other relevant conditions.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with various departments like procurement, sales, engineering, and legal to gather comprehensive information needed for the RFQ.
3. Vendor Communication: Liaise with suppliers to clarify requirements, address queries, and ensure they understand the expectations and submission process.
4. Evaluation Criteria: Develop criteria for evaluating submitted quotations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project needs.
5. Documentation: Ensure all RFQ-related documents are accurate and maintain records of communications and submissions for future references.
6. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that the RFQs comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
7. Analysis and Reporting: Analyze submissions and draft reports or summaries to aid decision-makers in selecting the best vendor.
