During National Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor the lives, legacies and accomplishments of the Hispanic and Latino communities. This month, our employee resource group VIDA hosted events across our markets and a moving discussion about resilience and empowerment. To round out the month, they are volunteering with a local food pantry to help provide food to our neighbors in need. Thank you, VIDA, for a month of connection, education and impact.

This initiative celebrates women who are going above and beyond to make a meaningful impact. Our Yappy Hour with Puppy Luv at The Point National Landing was full of wagging tails, new friends, and happy pups—and the pup cups were a HUGE hit! 🐶🍦

Our annual Cans for Change initiative returns this week as part of Rise by Bozzuto’s Season of Giving. Across our communities and offices, associates and residents will collect canned goods for local food banks and pantries. Our teams will also volunteer at food banks and shelters, supporting neighbors facing food insecurity in the places we call home. This year, we hope to surpass what we’ve accomplished in the past and make an even greater impact together.

Meet Lony! A 10-month-old Maltese with a big personality packed into a tiny fluffy body. Originally from Korea, he made the journey to Virginia and quickly became a happy member of The Witmer community. One of Lony’s favorite things to do is show off his manners. He happily sits on command and is always eager to earn praise (and maybe a treat or two). When he gets excited, he has a unique habit of hopping around like a little bunny, which never fails to make people smile. Lony believes that everyone is a friend. Whether he is meeting a neighbor for the first time or seeing a familiar face, he greets everyone with an enthusiastic wagging tail and a cheerful attitude. His friendly personality makes him a favorite wherever he goes. And that why he is The Witmer's July Pet of the Month!!

Bella is a two-and-a-half-year-old Shih Tzu who has been my loyal companion since she was three months old. She is a true sweetheart, adorable, loving, and full of personality. She is also a little stubborn in the most charming way. Bella recently made a big life change when she relocated with me from the Middle East to the United States. Like many of us who move to a new place, she has been trying to find her footing in an unfamiliar environment. Bella is also very observant and loves spending time by the window, watching people in the interior courtyard. Whenever she spots another dog, she immediately lets everyone know with an excited bark. Despite these challenges, Bella continues to bring comfort, laughter, and warmth into my life. She is funny, incredibly cute, and has absolutely no sense of personal space, she follows me from room to room and always wants to be so close. We are adapting together, and that’s what makes Bella so special. 🐾🐶
