After 16 years as a licensed real estate professional, one thing has never changed: I will always tell you what you NEED to hear, not just what you want to hear.
I will be brutally honest about property values, market conditions, pricing strategies, and expectations, even when it's not the popular opinion. My job isn't to tell you what your home is worth more just to get the listing, or to convince you to buy a home that isn't right for you.
My job is to educate, advocate, protect your interests, and give you the truth so you can make informed decisions.
After 16 years, here are 9 hills I will die on:
1. You get ONE chance to hit the real estate market strong. One chance.
2. You don't NEED an open house for your home to sell. Interested Buyers will schedule a personal showing.
3. I never sprinkle pixie dust on the information I share with you. You can love your house but you still need to hear the truth.
4. If Buyers see a problem, they'll assume there are other problems they can't see.
5. The highest offer isn't always the best offer. There are other, very important details to an offer and it is my job to explain that to you.
6. You should expect professional photos.
7. Your house should smell like NOTHING when they walk in. It should not smell like your dog or cat, it should not smell like dirty socks, it should not smell like last nights dinner and it should not smell like some cheap air freshener.
8. The first price matters more than the first price reduction which brings me to my last 'hill'
9. I will NOT over price your home. It will sit on the market. The longer it sits on the market, the longer it is devalued to a Buyer. I don't care what "you've put into it." I don't care what the neighbors house sold for. I don't care what "you need."
Experience has taught me that honesty might not always win me the business, but it will always earn me the respect. And i'd rather lose a deal than compromise my integrity.
Thinking about buying or selling? Do you have a friend or family member who is thinking about buying or selling? Let's have an honest conversation. No sugarcoating. No pressure. No telling you what you want to hear just to earn your business. Just 16 years of experience, honest advice, and someone who will always put YOUR interests first.
Send me a message. Let's talk real estate - and let's keep it real. (pic for attention because i'm also kinda fun!)
