Neil Kelly Real Estate

Neil Kelly Real Estate I am a Long and Foster Realtor representing buyers and sellers in Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. I’m in a good place. Not so much.

In my first career, I was a teacher and coach. I taught courses in history, philosophy, psychology, and economics, and I coached track, cross country, and basketball. I worked at James Madison High School in Vienna, at Oakton High School, and at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria. I have lived in Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington, and Washington D.C. My wife Nicol

e and I own homes in both D.C. and Arlington, where we’re now raising our four-year-old twins. I loved teaching, but I like new challenges, and eight years ago, after educating myself about the real estate business, I began the transition. When I told a couple friends about this decision, their responses were quite distinct. One said, “Neil, I don’t see you as the salesman type.” The other said, “You know the area. You know a whole lot of people who trust you. Go for it.”

Turns out, both friends were right. I’m now a Long and Foster REALTOR with a wealth of experience representing buyers and sellers in Northern Virginia and D.C. Much of my business comes from the referrals of satisfied clients. But as for me being the “salesman type”? I guess my selling point is simply the Golden Rule. I treat people the way I want to be treated. Helping people with their own transitions, and raising my family in the region I call home: a good place to be.

The suspects were casing the place.
I was holding an open house when through the front window I noticed four little boys eyeing the brightly colored helium balloons tied to my Realtor sign. When they saw me, they scrammed.
A while later, I looked out the window: no balloons.
My evidence is circumstantial, but for the record, I will never understand little boys who won't steal a Realtor's balloons.
