Being a Realtor and selling homes is a skill that I’ve mastered over the past 10 years. Now selling my own house…that has been a whole different experience. 😂
I’ve spent years helping other people buy and sell homes. I know the market. I know the comps. I know how to price strategically, prepare a property, negotiate, and keep emotions out of the transaction.
I’ve sold properties in my own neighborhood with ease.
But when it’s YOUR house? Whew. 😂
Nobody really talks about what happens when a Realtor is the Homeowner.
Suddenly, I’m looking at my own house through two completely different lenses. The Realtor in me is thinking about market value, positioning, timing, and the buyer. The homeowner in me is thinking about everything I’ve put into this house, the memories attached to it, and what I think it’s worth.
And let’s be honest… sometimes those two women do NOT agree. 😂
Being a Realtor doesn’t mean you stop being emotionally connected to your own home. It just means you have a front-row seat to the process from both sides.
So tell me…
Would you use your Realtor brain to sell your own house, or your homeowner brain? 🏡
