Les Deux Mondes with NuNus collective is offering an Intellectual Property Seminar Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016
=====
Imitation may well be the highest form of flattery but not when it comes to your art, your work, your ideas.
Les Deux Mondes, a NUNU Arts and Culture Collective partner, hosts a Sept. 17 seminar addressing federal law on intellectual property with Shreveport attorney Kate Bloomfield.
Discussed will be trademark/name, copyright, and patent. What are trade secrets and how confidentiality agreements/clauses can be used to protect "secrets."
The 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, seminar includes lunch. Participation is limited to 20 persons. Cost is $25 and can be paid online via the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective Website.
Bloomfield, currently serves as legal adviser to a local artists nonprofit, Works in Progress Louisiana, which assists artists with commercial ventures. As special counsel, Ms. Bloomfield represented a local software company to address its intellectual property needs: from trademarks to drafting software license agreements, to negotiating with Silicon Valley based software companies.
Les Deux Mondes, located at 265 Front Street, Arnaudville, is a Bayou Teche green property development that re-purposes older homes as guest cottages and with the use of landfill pulled construction materials attempts to reduce the amount of new materials utilized in restoration work. The seminar takes place in the first of seven structures redesigned as guest cottage accommodations. For more information on the seminar, email [email protected].
