One of the biggest mistakes buyers can make is jumping straight into house hunting without understanding their numbers.

Before you fall in love with a home, here are 3 things worth knowing:

💰 1. Know your comfortable monthly payment.
Pre-approval tells you what you may qualify for- but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be comfortable spending that amount every month.

📊 2. Understand that your payment is more than principal & interest.
Your monthly housing expense may also include property taxes, homeowners insurance, mortgage insurance, HOA fees, and other costs.

🔑 3. Know your cash to close.
Your down payment isn’t necessarily the only money you’ll need. Closing costs, prepaid expenses, inspections, earnest money, and other transaction costs can all factor into the amount you need to bring to closing.
