It's that last few days of summer and these are the spots worth checking off the list before the long weekend ends and fall takes over.

⚾ Rockies vs. Cardinals at Coors Field (Sept 4-6) — classic end-of-summer ballgame
📍 40 West Art Walk (Lakewood) — free First Friday gallery hop, basically in our backyard
🏮 Bright Nights at Four Mile Historic Park — giant illuminated lanterns after dark, food trucks on-site, runs through Nov 8 so no rush but it's a great night out
🖼️ Denver Art Museum — always worth a stop, rotating exhibits keep it fresh
🥾 Chautauqua Park (Boulder) — Flatirons views, trails for every energy level

The best fall things to do in Denver Metro are almost back 🍂

Slower mornings, football on in the background, the first seasonal drink from Little Owl Coffee, and convincing yourself it's sweater weather the second the temperature drops below 75.

I'm already planning where to get a warm apple c***r donut, which local events can't be missed, and every excuse to spend a slow afternoon around town.

Austin's fine and all, but I'll take Red Rocks concerts, a green chile-smothered breakfast burrito, and First Friday Art Walk son Santa Fe, and the RiNo art scene any day.

The best way to decide between these two Denver Metro neighborhoods before you buy. 👀

The truth is, both are solid choices. The difference isn't about which one is "better". It's about which one fits the way you actually want to live.

Here's what I walk my clients through when they're standing right where you are:

Arvada: Olde Town charm, strong community feel, tons of local restaurants + breweries, great trail access, and super convenient for mountain weekends with quick I-70 access

Lakewood: more variety in home styles and pockets, easy access to Green Mountain + Bear Creek Lake Park, solid commuter options (6th Ave + C-470), and a great “close to Denver, close to the outdoors” feel

Now ask yourself: What does your everyday look like? What matters more, the first one or the second? What's your timeline, your budget flexibility, and whether you're thinking long-term or a few-year move?

Once you get clear on those, the choice usually makes itself.

Careful what you wish for... you just might find it when you move to the west side of Denver. 👀

Here are 5 things that will spontaneously happen the second you put down roots out here:

You'll suddenly develop strong opinions about the best way to get to the mountains without touching I-70.
You'll start giving directions using breweries instead of street names ("we're right by Barrels & Bottles" or "just past Cannonball Creek").
You'll casually mention "catching a show at Red Rocks" like it's no big deal, even though people fly in from other states just to see it once.
You'll defend your neighborhood: Olde Town Arvada, Golden, Morrison, or Lakewood; like it's a family member.
You'll run into the same person at the farmers market or on the Clear Creek trail three times a week and call them a friend.

Trust me, you'll do all of this way faster than you'd guess. Whether you're looking at a charmer in Olde Town, a place with land near Evergreen, or something in between, I'm here to help make it real.
