One of the things I love most about living in Ashburn is that it isn’t just a place to call home; it’s a launchpad for unforgettable experiences.
This past weekend, we packed up the car and headed to Pennsylvania to celebrate some big milestones: Matias being promoted to 6th grade and Niko’s amazing grades this school year. Proud mom moment! ❤️
We spent 3 nights at Great Wolf Lodge, and it was the perfect family getaway. We enjoyed the indoor water park for two full days, played a round of Glow Golf, and made the most of every minute. And can we talk about the breakfast? Absolutely worth it!
In the afternoons we would explore nearby towns. We went to Jim Thorpe twice, often called the “Switzerland of America.” We rode the scenic railway, strolled through the charming downtown, shopped, enjoyed great food, and took in the beautiful mountain views.
On our last day, we visited Knoebels, the largest free-admission amusement park in the United States. You only pay for the rides you choose, and the park was absolutely beautiful, filled with mature trees, mountain scenery, and classic rides that were a blast for both kids and adults.
The best part? We could simply drive there and drive back. No flights. No complicated travel plans. In fact, we planned it the day before. My schedule had been very hectic, thankfully, with new clients. So I was looking forward to getting away for a few days. We loved the trip so much that we decided to stay an extra day.
And because real estate never stops, somewhere between water slides, mountain trains, and roller coasters, I got my newest listing ratified after just 2 days on the market! 🎉🏡

This is one of the reasons I love Loudoun County. You’re close enough to incredible destinations that a memorable family getaway can be just a road trip away.

You’ll find oysters, blue crab, crab cakes, sushi specialty rolls, specialty dishes, fresh juices, and desserts in an all you can eat buffet.

One of the things I love most about Loudoun County is discovering local spots like this; places where the menu is packed with options, and the presentation is beautiful. Matias liked the fried rice, Jay and I got our money’s worth in sushi, and he ate crab and prawns too. Niko focused on the rolls. And of course, everyone ate dessert. Kids went for chocolate cake, I went for the tiramisu.

Worth the visit for a fun and quick lunch!
