I am so humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to present this check to the Trauma Intervention Program of Western North Carolina tonight! As I quickly fled my own tears, the appreciation resounded all around me. In that tearful moment, I felt proud to contribute to a most noble cause.

This group of selfless volunteers set out to goodness -only-knows-what when they answer the call. They are out there on the front lines preserving the sanity of victims, witnesses, and first responders. They hold our hands, catch our tears, and help navigate us through our pain in the face of tragedy and horror. Yes, volunteers. And they stay, sometimes all night. After first responders are gone, and reality sets in. They are the embodiment of the empathy our community needs.

As I accept thanks from this amazing group, I must thank a few others who made this donation a possibility.

I am thankful for my supportive Firm, Keller Williams Professionals, for hosting this grand charity, Fashion Victims Ball, which is uniquely disguised as a "company party." We get together and have a great time with our friends and clients, dressed as horribly as possible, and it pays!

Thank you to my amazing co-workers for coordinating and sponsoring this "party," Yary de Los Rios, in particular, for sharing in the contribution to TIP.
