Constructed in 1923, the building at 46 Orchard St. was originally a residence built for Harriet and Claude Edwards. In the early 20th century, the Edwards family operated several apartment units from the property; the building continued serving as apartments until the 1990s.

When Mosaic purchased the property, the team was excited by the opportunity to rehabilitate a centrally located building filled with architectural character and abundant natural light.

🌤 Summer is here! The Asheville Area housing market remains steady. Compared to the same two-week period last year, new listings in the Asheville Area are down 5% while homes going under contract are up 4%. In Buncombe County, new listings are down by 9% (21 properties), and homes going under contract are also down by 3% (6 properties). Madison County had four more homes go under contract vs. new active listings, a ratio of 140%.

For the past four years, Mosaic Realty has proudly partnered with Grace Episcopal Church to help address food insecurity for local families through our annual summer food drive and distribution program.

This year, thanks to the generosity and hard work of our Mosaic brokers and staff, we were able to provide food to 50 families connected to the ACS system, helping ensure they have access to nutritious meals during the summer months when school is out.

A special thank you to Mosaic broker Stephanie Caldwell for her leadership and dedication in organizing this meaningful effort year after year. We are also incredibly grateful to Caley, Nancy, Kathleen, Donita, Jose, Jackie, Anthony G (and his posse of wonderful volunteers), Mike, Megan, Sarah, Carrie Welles, and Steph S. for volunteering their time and energy to make this year’s food drive and distribution a success.

We are honored to be part of a community that shows up for one another and works together to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this important initiative. 💙
