New listing alert: 108 Hudson St, Asheville. I watched the construction of this Platinum Certified house when I lived across the street in WAville. The ultra modern look was intriguing and I was deeply impressed with its super efficient use of energy (energy credits on power bills!). You could say that I was, and remain, green with envy.

A few weekends ago I went camping at one of my favorite National Forest campgrounds. If you take the time to look around you’ll notice remnants of our logging past. Did you know that about 85% of the Southern Appalachians were either cleared, in various stages of regrowth, or in very young secondary forests in the early 20th century? What a difference 120 years makes!
