When my family relocated to Asheville, I reached out to a lot of local businesses to make connections and build community. The first person who replied was Oscar Wong.

Not only did he welcome us, but he also invited our family to visit the incredible facility he had built for Highland Brewing. We stayed close ever since, and over the years, he became known in our home as Uncle Oscar.

There’s a hole in our community and the entire craft brewing world with his passing. But the legacy he leaves behind continues to inspire and uplift. Oscar, we love and miss you.
