Back in December, I helped some of my oldest and closest friends with selling their home. Life is full of changes, and these changes lead us to new beginnings and also through big transitions. I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of both the celebration of them getting this as their first home and the transition of this home and in my friends’ lives. We talked, just before closing, as we were teaming up to haul away an old hot water heater, about the first time I came to this house with Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack in tow. It was a time that feels so far away with all that the ways that life has changed for all of us since, and I truly appreciated the reflection. What I can say with certainty is that all of us have grown as people so much along the way and I am really grateful to have maintained our relationships through all of the meandering paths of life. Often, a home sale means a lot more than a home sale to me personally and this one came with all the feelings. I love that we found new folks to call this place home, create new memories, and continue their story here. I am so grateful for my enduring friendships with these beautiful humans and for being entrusted with such a big part their lives. I’m thankful for my memories in this home that I will carry with me and am excited for the new chapter this opens for my friends as well!
