Honored to market and sell the original homestead of my own community. My neighbors settled in during Covid-times to be close to family in Malvern Walk before migrating back to interesting professional endeavors out West. This place is remarkable and holds a special piece of West Asheville history. Again, honored and thrilled to be part of passing it on to its next stewards.

Long term relationships - that's the moral of this story. This is the 16th home I've sold with Catoe Construction over the past 10 years. Earning Mark's business on the first one is a fun story I'll tell anyone who asks. Ever since, we've had great fun and success buying lots, scheming up the best designs, and curating the most attractive, marketable homes. And the icing on the cake is that we've become friends with great appreciation for each other.

BEST STORY! Last fall this, my client's "dream house" came on the market. There were multiple offers and she wasn't up for competing. Turns out the owners didn't accept any offers, because....life. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. My client heard a story of someone who missed out on their dream home, but was able to buy it years later. She went to sleep thinking of this place. She woke up thinking of this place. Moments later, I sent her a note that it was on the market again. And now it's hers!!!! So happy for her.

Just 5 years ago, I helped “A” pick out a place for him and partner, “J,” to relocate to in AVL. They landed in a sweet farmhouse in the 5-points area. “A” had an engagement ring shipped to my house and I hid it in the new place so he could surprise “J” on her first day in AVL. She had a new home and a ring! They married at Fleetwoods and 3 years later they craved the West AVL lifestyle. They were to winning bid out of 8 offers on this cute cottage! Monday, they let it go and they made the move to Chicago! Farewell friends!

In 2016, I helped Cathy purchase this brick bungalow to live in West AVL while working for the US Forest Service. Ten years later, she's transferred to a USFS office in SC and given me the honor to market her cottage and represent her in its successful sale. It's super rewarding to have repeat clients and full circle transactions.

This time of year is fun. Lots of strategic preparation to get properties on the market this spring. So far, the market is responding better than expected. I listed two places yesterday and each has several showings today. Super exhilarating!

This was fun and meaningful. My new neighbor bought a place I had listed in my neighborhood. When her mom decided to relocate to Asheville, she asked me to represent her. It was an honor to have the opportunity and to find her the perfect one-level house in a welcoming community!
