Starting at 9AM on 11/24, we’ll go live with a post calling for bids on this festive holiday rabbit decoration! It’s absolutely sure to brighten your home for the holidays. 🎄

You’ll be able to comment your bid up until 6 PM Eastern Time on 11/24. We will start at $40 and each bid should be in a new comment, and you may bid as many times as you’d like. All bids should increase in whole dollar increments only. The winner will be announced after the conclusion of the auction and will be able to pick up their new holiday friend on any Saturday or Sunday between 12-4 PM at the adoption center in Worthington. Item cannot be shipped and is local pickup only.

Proceeds will go directly to the Ohio House Rabbit Rescue and support the bunnies this Holiday season. Stay tuned and get your bids ready!

Please consider donating to our Veterinary Care Fund to help bunnies like Vincent this Giving Tuesday and holiday season!

Vincent, a small brown and white lop rabbit, came into the rescue with his brother Frank. A Good Samaritan found them abandoned in a park in Columbus and brought them to OHRR’s Adoption Center. Although they were not bonded, we kept them in side-by-side pens to make them as comfortable as possible.

Most bunnies are somewhat confused when they first arrive at the rescue, but usually adjust quickly because of the good housing, healthy food and loving care they receive. But, volunteers at the Center noticed that Vincent continued to seem depressed for a longer time than most rabbits. A good part of the time he just laid quietly in his pen, not even lifting his head. Volunteers didn’t bother him or handle him for fear of upsetting him more.

When the time came for his wellness check prior to his neuter, the reason for his odd behavior became clear. He had a severe infection. His ears were full of yellow pus and his left eye was crusty and swollen – he could barely open it.

We immediately started him on an antibiotic, Enrofloxacin, ear drops and eye drops, and Metacam for pain, and applied warm compresses. He temporarily moved into a medical foster home where we can watch him closely to be sure he is progressing steadily.

Vincent should recover, but it will take time to get his eyes and ears back in good shape. When he feels better, he will be able to be neutered and ready for adoption. We are sure he will be a very sweet boy, and he is looking forward to finding his forever home!

By giving to the OHRR Vet Care Fund, you help us care for Vincent and the more than 100 rabbits that come into our rescue every year. Most rabbits need to be spayed or neutered and all of them receive the RHDV2 vaccination. The bunnies thank you for your support!
