🎄 Dining with Dane: Christmas Eve Feast Edition 🍴
This Christmas Eve, my best friend in the whole wide world (🌎💕…except for my beautiful wife, of course 😘) and I went all out in the kitchen. Here’s what we whipped up in a culinary adventure of epic proportions:
🔥 Red Chili Sauce & Blue Cheese Sauce: Because a perfectly herb-marinated filet mignon Châteaubriand roast deserves options. Who knew opposites could pair so perfectly? 🥩
🍋 The Best Lemon Meringue Pie You’ll Ever Have: Picture this—zesty lemon zabaione nestled in a toasted pine nut shortbread crust, topped with a fluffy Italian meringue. It’s like a slice of sunshine on a cloudy winter day! ☀️🍰
🍫 Chocolate Chip Pie: Whipped cream + melted marshmallow + unsweetened chocolate = a next-level dessert dream. Oh, and the graham cracker crust? Gluten-free for my amazing gluten-free friends! (You’re welcome 😇.)
🥣 Soupy Beans: Beans, but make them fancy. Hatch green chiles, pork salt, tomatoes, cumin, oregano, and…wait for it…Parmesan rinds in the broth. Pro tip: Parmesan rinds are like a magic wand for soup—they turn it from good to unroll exquisite. 🧙♂️✨
💥 And the kitchen chaos? Imagine two grown men debating the proper fluffiness of meringue, spilling a little wine while taste-testing the beans, and playing Christmas music way too loud. 🎶🥂 Not pictured: a near disaster involving the blue cheese sauce and an overzealous whisk.
