Chop’s Diner opens this Friday, and the undead are expecting you.

The Halloween dinner theater experience at the MetroWest YMCA Outdoor Center begins October 23, with additional performances on October 24, 30 and 31. Guests will attend a high school reunion like no other, complete with former classmates and a family-style dinner nobody asks too many questions about.

Seatings are available at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Adults: $50
Youth 17 and under: $40
Recommended for ages 12+

A WIN FOR A REPEAT CLIENT

"I'm waiting for rates to come down."

We hear it every week. And if your timeline is truly flexible, waiting is a legitimate strategy. But the data tells a different story about most people: 79% of homeowners considering a sale right now are doing it out of necessity, not choice.

Marriage. A growing family. An empty nest. A new job. Life doesn't check the 10-year Treasury before it happens. And the rate swings everyone agonizes over? Smaller than they feel.

This week's Freddie Mac numbers on a $760,000 loan:
7.40% → $5,262/mo (this week)
7.28% → $5,200/mo (last week)

That's $62 a month. $745 a year.

The math is also asymmetric in your favor: if rates rise after you buy, you're locked in below them. If they fall, you refinance. Either way, you own the home.

THE RIGHT MOVE FOR THREE GENERATIONS

Cam and Carley began married life in an apartment at Milton Academy, where Cam serves on the physical education faculty. The location made for a short commute to Carley’s job at Dana-Farber.

Then they welcomed a daughter. Dorm living had worked well for two, but life with a baby called for a different arrangement.

They wanted a house within commuting distance of Boston and Milton in a neighborhood where their family could stay for years. Carley’s mother, who lives in Ashland, hoped to be close to her granddaughter too. The right home needed room for their growing family and had to fit a tight budget.
