Making the most of winter…so far.
It hasn’t been an all-time snow year, but grateful for the days we get out there!

From my first winter turns down a very icy Castle Peak 😅 to powder hunting, diving into my Pro Level 1 avalanche course, hosting a Companion Rescue course with 10 rad women alongside AE + Arc’teryx, and sunrise skin laps with my favorite speedster 🤍🐶

Here's to always learning and hoping winter still has a few more surprises for us ❄️

Interest in our women’s backcountry programs this winter has been incredible, and because the January 11 AIARE Companion Rescue sold out so quickly, 🚨 we’ve added 6 additional spots 🚨 and we’re keeping the momentum going with a second event on February 1: a full day of touring in the backcountry.

More details on both below:

🏔️Jan 11 — AIARE Companion Rescue
A one-day rescue refresher focused on best practices, efficient techniques, and dialed systems.
🤍All participants receive a complimentary Kyanite fleece baselayer kit from Arc'Teryx.

🎿🏂 Feb 1 — Intro to Backcountry Skiing & Splitboarding
A full day in the field covering terrain assessment, trip planning, route finding, decision-making, gear systems, and rescue basics.
🤍All participants receive a complimentary Arc’teryx Micon 37 touring pack.

Two events. Two opportunities to build skills, confidence, and community in the mountains ❄️🏔️

Sign-up links for both events are in my bio!

From the world’s first pyramid completed over 4000 years ago (the tallest building in the world back then 😉) to the earliest columns & curved walls, from beautifully carved hieroglyphics to the temples of the pharaohs - Egypt is a living timeline of human brilliance & evolution.

What’s truly amazing is that ancient Egypt lasted so long that Cleopatra - the last ruler of Egypt and its final pharaoh - is actually closer to today than she is to the first Egyptian dynasty.

I loved every moment of this trip to Egypt. Life-changing in the best way… and yes, I’m already thinking about my return 🤍🇪🇬

Egypt reminds me why I studied anthropology — a land that invites endless “whys,” layered with ancient belief systems, ritual practices, and humanity’s story carved into the earliest chapters of civilization. So happy here! ✨

Egypt (and UAE) • Part 1:
1. Great Pyramids of Giza (c. 2600–2500 BCE)
2. The Great Sphinx (c. 2500 BCE — so much bigger than it looks!)
3. Camels in the Dubai desert 🐪 — we were dressed in ghutra headscarves
4. Falcons — the UAE’s national bird and a vital part of Bedouin culture, the region’s original inhabitants
5. King Tut’s throwing stick (c. 1323 BCE) — hunting + afterlife
6. Tut’s alabaster canopic jars (18th Dynasty, c. 1330s BCE)
7. Old Kingdom Seated Scribe (c. 2400 BCE) — incredibly lifelike, complete with inlaid blue eyes
8. Tut’s golden shabtis + statues of Horus, Anubis, Osiris (c. 1323 BCE)
9. Tutankhamun’s faience necklace (c. 1323 BCE) — protection & rebirth
10. King Tut’s funerary mask (c. 1323 BCE) — pure gold and inlaid stones, one of the most iconic artifacts in the world
11. The oldest boat in Egypt — the Khufu Solar Boat (c. 2500 BCE), buried beside the Great Pyramid to carry the king into the afterlife
