Another 120+ year old home in the books! Genuinely one of my favorite things about old homes is being able to go back and really look at the history of the home.

In this case we're looking at an old metal roof that has been covered by the roof structure of an addition!

I may be rambling, but a single home is rarely historically important... but when you go back and look at the structure, see the work that was done by other people more than a century ago... Well, it may not be important in a broad historic sense, but you know this structure was home to people who really cared for it!

Mold growth can be an insidious problem with severe health implications. During our inspections we identify potential problem sources and take samples for laboratory analysis. Laboratory backed inspection reports are available as both a stand-alone service or an add-on to our full home inspections!

Do you do crawlspaces? Yes buuuut....

Surprisingly one of the most frequent questions clients ask is if we inspect crawlspaces. The answer is yes, absolutely! We crawl to every corner we possibly can during a home inspection.

That said, there are exceptions to every rule! One of the major limiting factors is if there are safety concerns for our inspectors. In the case pictured here, there was an improperly spliced, LIVE electrical wire suspended over standing water in the crawlspace! 😱

There are actually a number of other issues present in this photo, but we'll save those for another time!
