As you know the big Halloween block party is Saturday night. This means there will be thousands of people coming to town. Many of them will think it is a great opportunity to cause problems.
While we know this should be a fun weekend we do want to give you some advice to make your lives easier.
• If you have parking at your home and do not absolutely need to move your car, DON’T. Friday and Saturday will have thousands looking for parking and they will take your spot. The towing companies will be overwhelmed with the needs of the City and will not come to the private lots around town.
• If you park on the street, I recommend you fold town your mirrors if possible. People think it is fun to knock them off.
• LOCK your car and remove anything of value.
• LOCK the doors and windows of your home. Otherwise, you will become the public bathroom.
• If you are leaving your house. TURN ON ALL LIGHTS! This will deter people from breaking in since they would be visible.
• If you have items outside that can be thrown through a window, find a safe place for it.
• Put away any grills, chairs, etc, that you have outside. They will likely be stolen or destroyed.
• IF YOU HAVE A PARTY remember YOU are responsible for all damages to your home. You will have to pay for anything that anyone breaks. Even if you don’t know them. Know who is in and around your home and stay in control.
• NO ONE IS TO BE ON ANY ROOF AT ANY TIME. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Someone gets hurt or dies every year from this. Don’t lose a friend to silliness. You also don’t want to have to pay for the damage to the roof.
• Do not walk alone. Use the buddy system. Lots of strangers to our town will be lurking around.
• Most importantly, Be safe, be careful, Have fun!
Remember all trash must be cleaned up by noon Sunday. You will be fined by the city for litter otherwise.
