What happens when you bring together an attorney, an operator, and a retail strategist?

You get the real conversation every food and beverage entrepreneur needs before signing on the dotted line.

Honored to join and at to unpack the often-overlooked pieces of growth: licensing, location, financing, and the decisions that can make—or break—a business before the doors even open.

The room was full of thoughtful questions, honest stories, and operators committed to their craft and its growth.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. The future of hospitality is brighter when we share knowledge, open doors, and help one another navigate the journey.

🥰🥰Nine years of FAB.🥰🥰

I keep coming back because of moments like this one...from my first conference, when Leslie Ferrier stood in front of a room and talked honestly about managing her team through an active shooter situation in Las Vegas. Her restaurant became a refuge. And she shared what that required of her as a leader the weight, the tools she had to reach for, the things she hoped no one else would ever need.

That kind of honesty costs something to offer. And this community offers it freely.

Nine years of celebrating Randi and what she's built a room where people share the truth. The failure, the success and all the mess in between.

That's what makes us all better.
Not just as operators, but as humans.

More We.

p.s. I sat next to Leslie today and thanked her for sharing her story 9 years ago.

Some people collect shoes.
I collect ideas.

Urbanism. Leadership. Hospitality. Behavioral science. Marketing. Philosophy.

Because great places, the kind people fall in love with, aren’t created by one discipline. They happen at the intersection of how people live, gather, and feel in a space.

Every book on these shelves feeds the same question I ask on every project:

How do we build places people want to return to?

Cities. Main streets. Restaurants. Neighborhood hubs.

The answer is always human first.

🌟 My 14-year-old is begging for Raising Cane’s. Closest one? 45 minutes away. So how does he even know this brand—and why do he + his friends want it so badly?

➡️ Social media.
➡️ Social listening.

58% of the world is online. 79% of consumers say user-generated content drives their choices. Cities + developers who aren’t paying attention are missing the next big tenant before they even ask for space.

This is how my team at helps communities recruit retail that people are already craving.! 👉 https://www.edieeverywhere.com/sosf-insights/social-listening-understanding-consumer-behavior

Good retail design starts with something simple: make people comfortable enough to stay.

This overhang does exactly that.

Shade in the desert sun.
A generous sidewalk.
Places to sit.
Storefronts that open directly to the pedestrian experience.

It turns a typical strip center into something closer to a walkable main street—where people linger, browse, and gather.

Small design decisions like this make a big difference in how a place actually works for humans.
