If you look at this picture, you probably just see a guy bringing boxes down a flight of stairs. ๐ฆ๐ช
โYou donโt see the ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ I'm carrying with every single step.
โI move heavy furniture for a living, but thatโs nothing compared to the weight Iโve had to carry in my spirit. Iโve lost my dad, leaving me with just one parent. Iโve lost every single one of my grandparents, along with aunts, uncles, and friends. ๐๏ธ Iโve seen so much loss that eventually, the tears just stopped, and the pain turned into pure numbness. โPeople see me lifting couches and dressers, but they don't know that the heaviest thing I carry rests right against my chest. ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐บ๐ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฑโ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ ๐บ๐ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐. ๐ฟ That is a different kind of heavy.
โIโve survived near-death street experiences that should have taken me out. ๐ I fought a silent, suffocating war with depression when nobody was watching, and there were days I was an absolute wreck. ๐ง โ๏ธ Through it all, people were talking. They doubted me. They wrote me off and counted me out. The devil threw his absolute best punch to keep me down in the dark. ๐

โThat numbness didn't break meโit gave me tunnel vision. ๐๐๏ธ Going into year 6 of Grab And Go Movers, the outside noise doesn't even reach me anymore. I donโt have a cozy 9-to-5. I donโt have a Plan B. I donโt have a safety net to fall back on. I ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ. ๐ผ
โBut here is the absolute truth: I stopped living for myself a long time ago.
โ๐ ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ฎ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐จโ๐งโ๐ฆ Every box I bring down these stairs in the Atlanta heat is me laying bricks for my kids. ๐งฑ๐จ I am laser-locked on building something solid so they never have to carry the same heavy burdens I did.
