The Space
You wake up on the queen size memory foam bed in a climate-controlled loft and peer out the large skylight at the swaying zen bamboo. Roosters crow nearby because you are on a working farm, in City of Atlanta. You are 15 feet above the forest floor, tucked into the middle of a 80- year old bamboo forest. And there are friendly beautiful Bolivian alpacas (like a small llama) roaming abou
t below. Because they live here and at the moment, two of them are pregnant. This treehouse was built with all reclaimed materials so you have the feeling you are in a historic room with the multi-colored walls of heart of pine beaded board. But the two skylights, with views of the bamboo canopy above, shed dappled light through the vaulted ceiling and remind you that's it's not 1900. The treehouse features several pieces of late 1800s stained glass, heart of pine floors from an old church, 120 year old French doors that open onto a wrap- around catwalk, a composting toilet water closet, heat and air, and electrical throughout. You'll want to sip your coffee or a glass of wine on the large treehouse porch, held up by black locust trees still sporting their bark. Or maybe you'll want to walk around the deck of the tree house to check out the bamboo forest or the alpacas. The tree house roof is clad in 1871 South Georgia barn tin, so if it rains, you'll have a night of percussive rhythm. Our stairs are live edge heart cedar and works of art. The treehouse is wrapped in cedar and 120 year-old unpainted heart of pine siding salvaged off an old Atlanta house (the porch, so it wasn't painted). We furnished our treehouse in antiques and we have a composting toilet, a small fridge, a coffee maker, reverse osmosis filtered water, a selection of local wines to purchase, and an antique wash basin to wash your face. Guest Access
We have room to sleep 4 guests. We have a pull out full size sleeper sofa in the main room of the tree house with high-thread count beautiful linens and a memory foam topper. And we have a Queen size memory foam bed in the sleeping loft. The treehouse boasts a private water closet with a composting toilet, as well as a private, fully dedicated marble bathroom with a gorgeous walk in shower, vintage sink and toilet, located in the basement of the granite house nearby. We have a firepit, a covered large tree house porch, and bicycles are provided to ride down to East Atlanta Village (or to the Glen Emerald Lake) if you'd like to use them. Interaction with Guests
We live in the granite house and are available if you have questions. We are happy to give you a tour of our working farm of endangered ducks and chickens. Breakfast: You will be staying on a working urban farm. We grow our own organic fruits and vegetables and have 20 some pampered spoiled chickens and ducks that lay beautiful organic eggs. My daughter says: "you can taste the love." Breakfast is $15 extra and needs to be ordered when you make your reservation. It will be a scrambled organic eggs or omelette, fresh fruit, and freshly-made baked goods. The Neighborhood
The Neighborhood of East Atlanta
The neighborhood is residential but we are a working farm, so you'll hear the crowing of roosters although somewhat muffled by the bamboo. But be mindful that you're in Atlanta and you may hear the occasional siren or traffic sounds during your stay. You'll also hear the birds that live in the bamboo, the humming of alpacas, and the quacking of the nearby ducks. Getting Around
We provide bicycles for your convenience. There is public MARTA bus a short walk down from the Alpaca Treehouse. UBER is always a few minutes away. And you have free parking if you have a car. Other Things to Note
Parking is available at the alpaca corral. There is a dedicated path through the alpaca corral to the treehouse in the middle of the bamboo forest. There is another dedicated path to the private marble bathroom in the basement of the granite house.
