Before you start the home-buying process, have a clear understanding of what you’re looking for. Know what neighborhoods you like, what home features matter most to you, and (maybe most importantly) what your firm budget it is. ⁠

Pre-approval is not always necessary, but usually critical in making the process smoother. If you have the ability to get pre-approved, it makes obtaining your dream home so much easier. ⁠

3. Ditch Zillow, and hire an agent. ⁠
Zillow is an awesome resource for understanding what’s out there, but when you’re ready to begin the process, it’s always better to partner with an agent. Not only will they help mitigate any challenges, but they also will have access to homes that exist beyond Zillow.⁠
