The battle of the NHL drama here in the suburbs has been ongoing and quite frankly, a little ridiculous.
We have two areas of possible development, the POTENTIAL for one hockey team and both areas are fighting for it. But let’s be clear, we have no team yet so…..
First up and first to the fight if we are honest is The Gathering at South Forsyth in Cu***ng, Ga. Let’s be clear, this development is happening, it’s just the question of will it include a hockey arena or not.
This should feel similar to the Battery in Marietta if all goes to plan
But then NorthPoint Mall entered the chat with its long awaited revival
This area already has tons of shopping and surrounded by residential, however, NorthPoint Mall itself is feeling a little dated and many stores have left. Are indoor malls a thing of the past? My favorite mall, Gwinnett Place, died a long time ago, Mall of Ga is going through the same phases and NorthPoint as well. What gives?
If you’ve been to the Battery during a game, it’s a hot mess. So the question really is how do we see this playing out and is this what we want for the area?
If you live in these areas, what do you think it will do to the roads and infrastructure in place?
We have to be honest. The Battery draws people in. It brings money to the area. But at what cost?
I want to hear from those of you that live in these areas. Are you excited about the potential growth? I see this putting a major strain specifically if completed in the NorthPoint arena.
Tell me your thoughts! 💭
