Looking to purchase a new construction home in 2024?
Here are 3 things you should be asking your builder/ agent.
1) What are the standard features ?
Most builders have a beautifully decorated model home and most buyers want what they see. Ask what comes standard in the home and what are additional upgrades. Remember some upgrades can be done on your own AFTER you purchase for a fraction of the cost. Ask for a standard feature sheet.
2) What incentives are available ?
Almost all builders offer incentives when using their preferred lenders( you are free to use the lender of YOUR choice). Ask about closing cost, rate buydowns, design credits, if appliances, blinds, garage openers etc are included and if there are any extra incentives for HERO buyers ( Veterans, Teachers, Police officers, Firefighters, Nurses )
3) What warranties come with my purchase?
Builders should be selling you a quality home and they should warranty their work. Ask what warranties come with your purchase, how many years do the warranties last and what is covered under these warranties.
