DWM crews have successfully repaired a 16-inch water main break at 2151 Peachtree Road. Water service is being restored to all residents and businesses in the area. As the water lines become pressurized, customers will gradually begin receiving service. Nearby fire hydrants are open to flush the system.

Please note both lanes that are typically used for northbound travel and the median has been closed to vehicular traffic. The lanes usually designated for southbound travel are now being utilized as reversible lanes to accommodate traffic in both directions.

Please exercise caution while traveling through the area, as our crews are working to restore the road for full travel.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this critical repair work.

The break is near the intersection of Peachtree Road and Colonial Homes Drive, just up the road from Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Due to the water main break in front of Sufi's/R. Thomas, our water has turned off while repairs take place. Please note, this means no running water or flushing toilets. We will continue to monitor the building and update as more information is made available. We have staff on-site prepared to immediately begin clearing the water lines once water is restored.

The following communication was issued from the City of Atlanta:
