HUUUUGE for us in Atlanta.

RFK Jr is reportedly planning to pressure Coca Cola to replace high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar, bringing renewed attention to what goes into everyday beverages. This proposal is gaining traction among those who believe ingredient transparency and simplicity should be prioritized in widely consumed products. The discussion is quickly expanding beyond one brand into a broader conversation about food quality.

High fructose corn syrup has long been used because of its affordability and ease of use in large-scale production. However, it has faced ongoing criticism from consumers who associate it with processed foods and potential metabolic concerns. Cane sugar, on the other hand, is often viewed as a more natural option, even though both are forms of added sugar.

Nutrition experts highlight that the real issue may not be the type of sweetener, but the quantity consumed. Excess sugar intake from any source can contribute to weight gain, insulin resistance, and long-term health risks. Swapping ingredients alone may not solve these concerns without addressing consumption habits.

This debate reflects a growing shift in consumer awareness, where people are increasingly questioning labels and demanding better options. If such changes move forward, they could influence how major companies rethink product formulations across the entire industry.
