One thing people don’t always realize about being a real estate agent… we don’t get paid unless the deal CLOSES.You can spend weeks—or even months—working a transaction. Phone calls, negotiations, inspections, attorney review, paperwork, follow-ups, solving problems… and until you get to the closing table, there’s no paycheck.
Prime example: I’ve had one of my listings under contract for about a month. Everything was moving forward, and then I got the phone call every agent dreads: “Sorry, but the buyer’s loan was not approved.” Just like that—the deal is dead. The buyer can’t obtain the financing to purchase the home, which means everything we’ve worked toward during this transaction has officially come to an end. No closing. No commission. And now the seller and I have to regroup, get the property back out there, and start all over again.
That’s real estate.
Not every deal makes it to the closing table. Not every hour you put in turns into a paycheck. But you don’t quit because something didn’t go your way. You adjust. You get back to work. And you find the next buyer. LET’S GET IT BABY!
