September in the Sierra Foothills used to be my FAVORITE time of year. I was a pumpkin-spice-drinking, scarf-wearing, play-in-the-leaves, go-apple-picking basic fall girlie. 🍂☕️UNTIL I moved five minutes from the lake and fell in love with paddleboarding.
Now September comes around and I’m genuinely conflicted. 😂 I’m ready for crisp mornings, farmers markets and fall festivals…but I’m also absolutely not ready to put the paddleboard away and admit summer is over.
Luckily, after 35+ years in Placer County, I’ve learned September doesn’t really make you choose. You get cooler mornings for hiking, afternoons at wineries…and somehow still a few perfect lake days. ☀️🍂
It’s honestly one of my favorite months to live in the Sierra Foothills. So whether you’ve been here for decades or you’re just starting to picture what life in Placer County could look like, save this for your September plans.
