Jake Blackstock, Great Southern Land REALTOR®, utilizes his vast experience in forestry, wildlife management, and agriculture to assist clients with all of their land and real estate needs in their East Alabama territory (primarily Lee, Chambers, Macon, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties). Jake grew up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and spent his free time enjoying his outdoor passions that rural lands
afford fishing, hunting but most importantly, spending time with loved ones outdoors. He decided to follow his passion and obtain his degree in Wildlife Management from Auburn University in 2012. After graduation, Jake managed longleaf pine research crews throughout the Southeastern United States and conducted fisheries research from Auburn, AL to the Louisiana Coast. Jake met his wife and Auburn native, Jenna, in 2013 and they soon tied the knot in 2016. Next, Jake decided to build upon his forestry background and earn his master’s from Auburn University in 2018 specifically investigating potential physiological impacts of climate uncertainty on longleaf pine forests. He then began working in forest management in Southeast Georgia, specifically in timber appraisal and sales at Fort Stewart near Savannah, Georgia. Jake met a respected broker, Clayton Tillman of Land Unlimited, and conducted timber appraisals for some of his clients in Southeast Georgia. His son, River, was born in Mid-2019 which prompted Jake and Jenna to return to the Auburn/Opelika area to raise their son in the same family environment they were afforded. Jake began working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Opelika, Alabama where he advises landowners to manage their land with conservation in the forefront of their decision making to maintain and improve the existing land for future generations. He also obtained his real estate license and recently joined the Great Southern Land team; Alabama’s trusted land company since 1974. In his personal time, Jake enjoys spending time with his family enjoying the outdoor activities we love: hunting, fishing and watching our loved one’s experience of God's creation. Jake’s family loves being a part of the Auburn/Opelika area and building relationships with those around them. He attributes a large part of his life’s successes to his father, Noah, who taught him the value of always doing a quality job and lives by his motto of “shortcuts taken will eventually expose themselves.”
