It's almost never about square footage.

It's the stairs your knees have started negotiating with. The bedroom that's been "the gym" for three years because nobody sleeps in it anymore. The commute that made sense for a job you no longer have. The yard you used to love on Saturday mornings that somehow became a chore you pay for twice, once in money and once in your weekend.

Houses don't stop working all at once. They stop working in small ways, quietly, while life changes around them. The kids leave. The job goes remote. The hobby needs a garage. The parents need a main-floor bedroom when they visit. And because it happens slowly, most people live in the mismatch for years before they say it out loud.

Here's the question I ask when someone's wrestling with it: if you were house shopping today, knowing your actual life right now, would you buy the house you're in?

If the answer is an easy yes, wonderful. You're home. Ignore the market noise and stay put.

LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE. 💚🏡

I say it all the time, but Cannongate makes that one pretty easy for me.

This closing officially makes #24 CLOSED in Cannongate over the years! 🎉

And this neighborhood is a little extra special to me because I don’t just sell homes here… I live here. And my parents do too!

Years ago, We had the opportunity to build our own home in Cannongate. Along the way, I was also able to help some pretty amazing people find homes here too — which basically meant I got to help pick some of my own neighbors.

And believe it or not, Cannongate is actually the reason I ended up at HomeLink Realty.

Building here, selling here, helping friends and neighbors buy here, and becoming part of this community helped create relationships that ultimately led me to HomeLink… and looking back now, it’s pretty crazy to see how one decision can lead to so many others.

Now, all these years later, I get to put SOLD #24 on the board in the neighborhood I call home.

There’s just something different about selling a neighborhood you truly know and love. I know the streets. I know the homes. I know the amenities. I know what makes people want to live here — because it’s what made us want to live here too.
