Have you experienced, The Joy of Being? Y’all know by now I live for these moments. The joy of being is when we are able to appreciate something simple-a sound, a sight, a touch-when you see beauty, when you feel loving kindness towards another, sense the inner spaciousness that is the source and background to that experience. During yesterday’s tour in Newfoundland, 🇨🇦 while on a tour we stopped in a cute little neighborhood. Quidi Vidi. A super cute little area surrounded by beautiful scenery, quaint colorful homes 🏡 nestled next a river that runs into the Quidi Vidi lake. At the base of this lake was the Artisan Studios which housed several of the local vendors selling their handmade arts and crafts. While strolling through the different little shops I was stopped in my tracks by the sight a lovely lady who was sitting in the back of her small kiosk area in her rocking chair looking down and painstakingly creating her next masterpiece, understandably engrossed in her passion. Surrounded by all the amazing pieces she’s so lovingly crafted. After only a few seconds of me observing her she looked up and noticed my stare, now offering me her full attention she affixed her eyes from her current craft. Before she could verbally greet me, I said I just have to share with you how happy you look in your space. You are very obviously in your element. With a big smile she looked up and responded in kind and shared with me that she is in the stage of life were a “woman gets to enjoy all of her toys!” I asked her permission to take her picture and she delightfully accepted. The entire interaction was less than 30 seconds but it made my entire day. ~The Joy of being.
