💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Behind closed doors, in every kind of neighborhood and every kind of family, there are people quietly living through things the rest of us may never see.

Domestic violence doesn’t always leave a bruise. It can look like control, isolation, intimidation, financial abuse, threats, manipulation or fear.

This month, we wear purple. We educate ourselves. We listen without judgment. We check on our people. And most importantly, we believe survivors.

To anyone who has found the courage to leave, who is rebuilding, who is still finding their way, or who is quietly trying to figure out what comes next:

💜 You deserve to feel safe. You deserve peace. You deserve a life without fear.

And maybe this month we can do a little more than share a post.

If you feel inclined to donate, volunteer or simply learn how you can show up, we have two incredible organizations doing meaningful work right here in our community:

💜 Women of Worth — helping families escaping domestic violence and human trafficking rebuild, recover and restore their lives.

Hi, I’m Sam. 👋🏼 And since there are some new faces around here, I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself.

I’m a Realtor + Insurance Agent, but that’s probably the least interesting part about me. 😉

I’m a wife, a mom of two girls, married to a first responder, and most days my car doubles as an office, snack bar, locker room and transportation service. 😂

I’ve called the Auburn area home for most of my life, and community is a really big deal to me.

You’ll find me at volleyball games, soccer fields, school events, fundraisers and community events usually answering an email from the parking lot somewhere in between.

I’ve been in insurance since 2007, and real estate gave me another way to do what I genuinely love: help people figure things out.

I work with a lot of military and first responder families, but at the heart of my business is something pretty simple:

People first. Always.

I don’t know everything and I’ll never pretend I do. But I will ask the questions, find the answer, make the phone call, connect you with the right person and work really hard for you.

I believe you can be professional without being stuffy. You can build a business and still show up for your kids. You can work hard and serve people well without making every relationship feel like a transaction.

Around here you’ll get a little real estate + insurance, a lot of community, some mom life, probably sports, small-town Auburn, faith, family and the occasional “I’m working from my car again” moment. 🤍

October 1st 💗 A new month, and a reminder of something much bigger than a volleyball game.

Tonight our Placer girls filled the gym with PINK for their Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out. 🏐🎀 And while the decorations were fun and the energy was high, the reason behind the pink matters.

About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime.

So tonight we wear pink for the women currently fighting.
For the survivors.
For the families standing beside them.
For those we’ve lost.
And for every woman waiting on a test, a scan, a phone call, or simply trying to find her strength for another day.

To the women in the middle of the storm: keep fighting, girls. 💗

Storms don’t last forever. Sometimes you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other until you find the sunshine again.

Here’s to strong women, supportive communities, early detection, continued research, and a whole lot of HOPE. 🎀

🍎 OUTDATED real estate advice you probably won’t hear come out of my mouth…

“Wait until spring to buy or sell.”
Nope. Buyers looking during the holidays and winter months usually aren’t casually scrolling, they have a reason to move. Less competition can have its perks, too.

“Let’s start high and see what happens.”
Also nope. 😬 Overpricing can cost you that important early momentum. I’d rather price strategically from day one and give buyers a reason to pay attention.

“Paint everything beige.”
I love a clean, well-presented home but I also love a home with a little personality. Not every bit of character needs to disappear before the For Sale sign goes up.

“The right buyer will come along eventually.”
Maybe. But I’m much more interested in the qualified buyer standing in front of us TODAY than the imaginary one we hope shows up three months from now. 😉

Real estate isn’t one-size-fits-all. The market changes, buyers change, and sometimes the old “rules” need to change with them.

And since we’re talking apples… 🍏 here’s your ridiculously easy fall treat:

Caramel Apple Nachos
Thinly slice a couple of crisp apples, drizzle with warm caramel and melted chocolate, then sprinkle with crushed pretzels, mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts. Serve immediately and call it dessert. 🙌

Real estate advice + snacks. Apparently that’s what we’re doing around here now. 😂🍎

Weekend vibes around here looked a little like… 🏐📚🛍️🤍

Winning games.
A+ grades.
A little recovery time.
Homecoming shopping.
And, of course, trying to fit approximately 47 things into one weekend. 😂

As a working mom, I’ve learned that time management isn’t about doing MORE it’s about working smarter with the time we have.

A few things that help us:

✨ Look at the week before it starts. Games, practices, school deadlines, appointments and work all go on one calendar.

✨ Pick the BIG 3. What are the three things that actually need to happen today? Start there.

✨ Use the in-between time. A practice or appointment can be an hour to answer emails, finish homework, make the grocery order or knock out a few little tasks.

✨ Prep tonight for tomorrow. Clothes out, bags packed, lunches started, chargers plugged in. Ten minutes at night can save a whole lot of chaos in the morning.

✨ Teach the kids the system, too. They can check calendars, pack their bags and plan ahead. We’re not just managing their schedules we’re teaching them how to manage their own someday.

And maybe the biggest one: productive doesn’t mean busy every second.

Sometimes recovery, laughing together and wandering around looking for the perfect Homecoming outfit ARE the productive things. 🤍

Work hard. Work smart. Rest when you need it. And enjoy the season you’re in because these busy weekends with our kids are going way too fast.

SOLD in Cascade Crossing! 🏡🔑

This sweet little single-story home went PENDING in just 12 days and today we officially CLOSED after a 15-day escrow!

Happy sellers. Happy buyers. And an amazing buyer’s agent on the other side who helped us get everyone to the finish line. ❤️

This is my favorite part of real estate it’s so much more than a house.

It’s new beginnings, new families, new neighbors, new communities and a place to call HOME.

I’m not a soccer coach… but I am a mom, and moms are resourceful. 😉

So when practice gets cancelled, we grab the soccer buddies, show up anyway and have some fun. ⚽️

And maybe that’s a little bit of how I approach business, too. I may not always have the answer right away, but I’ll work hard, ask the questions, find the right people and figure it out.

Mom life has taught me: you don’t have to know everything. You just have to be willing to find the answer. 🤍

A little training, a lot of laughs, and another good reminder that sometimes you just make it happen.

As we close out September 11th, so many of our families are gathered under the Friday night lights. 🇺🇸🏈

Stadiums filled with kids, parents, grandparents, neighbors and friends… and so much American heart.

Tonight, may we remember the 2,977 lives lost on 9/11, the first responders who ran toward unimaginable heartbreak, our military who answered the call, and the families who have carried those sacrifices ever since.

Hold your loved ones a little tighter tonight.
Pray for our first responders.
Pray for our military.
Pray for the families behind every American hero.

And never forget what it means to stand together.
