Lewiston Assessment Appeal Advise….

If you received a property tax revaluation notice in Lewiston, it may be worth appealing your assessment. The process is simple, free, and only takes a few minutes.

To schedule an appeal, follow the instructions on the back of your assessment notice. You will need your Parcel ID number from the paperwork.

Before your phone appointment, it helps to gather:

• Your Notice of Assessment
• Recent Zillow or Redfin estimates
• A professional appraisal, if you have one
• Information on upgrades or repairs needed
• Dates for major improvements such as roofing, siding, windows, heating systems, etc.
• Photos of any issues or deferred maintenance
• Questions about how your value was determined, including what comparable properties were used and whether the property was physically inspected

You can also submit photos and supporting information by email to [email protected]. Be sure to include your property address and Parcel ID number in the subject line.

The phone interview process is straightforward and can potentially save homeowners a significant amount in property taxes. If you believe your assessment is inaccurate, it is worth taking the time to review and appeal it.
