It’s fairly common for new construction homes here in Auburn-Opelika to not come with gutters as a standard. We recently had David Freeman with Freeman Construction add them. (Highly recommend, by the way!) ✅

Freshman orientation was this week at Opelika High School. We have an incoming freshman ourselves, so I toured the school with a small group led by two seniors serving as emissaries. Listening to these two talk about their school said more than any brochure could.

They shared so much genuine love and pride for OHS. One said, “This school is great! They make it easy to get a great education!” Both talked about how much the teachers and staff genuinely support students, and how many opportunities OHS has opened up for them.

This echoes what I hear often from former students and parents in this community, and it matches our own family’s experience with Opelika City Schools. But hearing it straight from two seniors, speaking from the heart with excitement, says so much. They closed the tour saying they hope this year’s freshmen love their time at OHS as much as they have.

Proud of this school and this community. Bulldog pride. ❤️🖤
