Of course, there are a hundred other things you can do with a tax refund...so why should you put it towards a down payment or closing costs? 🏡🤔

✔ It makes financial sense - if you’re paying a mortgage, then the money you spend on mortgage payments is an investment in your own property which will likely increase in value over time.
✔Buying a home gives you more tax deductions compared to renting - You can deduct mortgage interest from your taxes. In addition, you can deduct what you pay in property taxes.
✔You might still be able to get a low interest rate in 2022. A low rate means a lower monthly payment and less of your money going toward interest over the life of the loan. Woo-hoo!
