Kim Courson - Realtor I guess I have always been a salesperson. I attribute my real estate success to 'osmosis'! Being around Dad was contagious. What an adventure it has been!

When other kids were outside playing I was sitting on the corner of my driveway selling cookies, punch, toys, or whatever else I could find in the house to sell! When I was in elementary school I would 'hang out' with my dad and give out homes brochures, cards, anywhere and everywhere we went. I loved watching how he related to others and made them smile. After graduation in 1988 from what is now Augusta State University, I began my real estate journey. I can't imagine a better career than making people's dreams come true. The relationships and friendships I have made over the past 28 years are irreplaceable. 90% of my business comes from personal referrals. For this I am most proud. I believe in giving impeccable service. In a day when you are surprised when someone treats you with respect I want to be the exception. I want those I come in contact with to be confident that I will be completely honest with them. I will be sensitive and caring to their situation. I believe this is what sets me apart from the rest. For over 65 families I currently manage their homes as rental properties. These are homeowners that did not plan on being landlords but due to the selling time of many homes these families have decided to lease their homes for a year or two and then sell. Beginning October 9th, the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival kicks off along the shores of Lake Chatuge at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, bringing two weekends of fall color, Appalachian history, food, crafts, rides, and live music to the North Georgia mountains. The 2026 festival runs October 9–11 and October 15–17, with the Carnival Midway opening early on October 8 at 6:00 PM.

Around the grounds, visitors can explore Pioneer Village, home to historic buildings including a one-room schoolhouse and smokehouse, along with an operating gristmill. Local vendors sell handmade crafts, while festival food includes smoked trout, vegetable plates, apple c***r, and hot fried apple pies. Historical demonstrations, specialty acts, and a flower show add even more to see.

A major part of the festival is the live entertainment inside Anderson Music Hall, the fairgrounds’ large indoor concert venue. The 2026 schedule begins October 9 with The Bellamy Brothers & Exile, followed by a Gospel Music Show featuring The Isaacs on October 11. The second weekend brings The Malpass Brothers & Always Loretta on October 15, Molly Tuttle on October 16, and Tanya Tucker on October 17. Advance concert tickets include admission to the festival grounds. General festival admission is $10, while children 12 and under enter free.
