Chosen… 🧡

A few years before this photo, Danny Ellerd was standing on street corners in Oklahoma City asking strangers for money.
Then one day, his own father drove past and realized the homeless man holding the sign was his son. 💔
Danny had spent around 15 years trapped in addiction, experienced multiple overdoses and eventually lost stable housing.
His lowest point came beneath an I-40 overpass.
Police found him weighing only 92 pounds. They planned to arrest him on outstanding warrants, but he was so sick that they took him to the hospital instead.
Doctors fought to save his life and a badly infected hand.
When Danny left the hospital, he entered Hope Is Alive carrying little more than a Walmart bag of clothes.
Recovery didn't transform everything overnight.
It became hundreds of ordinary decisions made differently.
Stay sober today.
Show up tomorrow.
Ask for help.
Help someone else. ❤️
By August 2023, Danny was managing responsibilities in recovery, working part time and starting college full time at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.
He studied Computer Information Systems.
And he earned a 4.0 GPA. 🎓
In April 2025, OSU selected him as a Women for OSU Scholar, recognizing both his academic performance and his commitment to serving others.
But perhaps the most meaningful part came afterward.
Danny began helping people living through the same things that had once nearly destroyed him. He worked with people experiencing homelessness, sponsored men in recovery and wrote a book called Recovery Is Possible.
The man who once needed someone to believe he could make it back now spends part of his life telling others that they can too.
Same person.
Very different chapter.
How incredible is it that someone can reach such a low point and, only a few years later, become the person helping others find their way out?

Imagine turning 18 with no one to call.

No parent to help you fill out a lease. No family couch to crash on if things go wrong. No one to call when you're scared, or lost, or just need advice on your first job interview.

For thousands of young people aging out of foster care every year, this isn't a hypothetical — it's the morning after their 18th birthday.

One day they're in the system. The next, they're "emancipated" — released into adulthood with a trash bag of belongings and, often, nowhere to go.

Here's what that first year can look like:

🏠 They lose their housing. Half of these young adults experience homelessness within six months — 20% of them immediately. No lease history. No co-signer. No safety net.

🎓 They lose their footing. Bounced between schools during multiple placements, many never catch up. Only 53% graduate high school. And when it's time to fill out a FAFSA or prep for a job interview, there's no parent in the next room to help.

💔 They lose their people. The caseworker, the foster family, the one teacher who checked in — all gone at once, right when life gets hardest. It's no coincidence that 71% of women in foster care become pregnant by 21, and 25% of these young adults end up incarcerated within two years of aging out.

These aren't statistics. They're kids we've all walked past — kids who deserved a village, and didn't get one.

So we're building them one. 🏡

Bridge Builder Communities is a few months away from completing the first Tiny Home Village in Augusta, GA, a real, physical place where young adults aging out of foster care can land safely instead of falling through the cracks. Not just four walls, but:

✅ Safe, affordable housing they can call their own
✅ Education and certification programs
✅ On-site counseling
✅ Job training with real employer partnerships
✅ A structured support system — the village they never had

Most of these young adults arrive with nothing. Literally nothing. Our support gives them the basics the rest of us never think twice about — a bed, a meal, someone who shows up.

This is where you come in. 💙

You can't rewrite someone's childhood. But you can make sure the story doesn't end at 18.

On the left is a little Turkish girl, born and raised in Germany, dancing with dreams far bigger than the world she knew. She had no idea where life would take her. She only knew how to smile, hope, and believe that something beautiful was waiting ahead.

On the right is that same little girl… now a woman, a mother, and living in America.

The road between these two photos wasn’t always easy. It was filled with unexpected turns, heartbreak, healing, sacrifice, lessons, and countless moments where only God’s hand could carry me forward.

Looking back, I realize that every closed door, every tear, every prayer, and every season of waiting had a purpose. God wasn’t delaying my life,-He was preparing it.

Today, I still dance.

Not because life is perfect, but because my heart knows the One who writes my story.

The little girl on the left danced while dreaming about her future.

The woman on the right dances because she’s living a life she once only dreamed of.

To God be all the glory for every step of this journey. The best is still yet to come. 🤍

There are days when I pause and simply thank God.

As a foreign-born 🇩🇪+🇹🇷 single mom, there were moments when the road ahead seemed uncertain. Starting over in a different country 🇺🇸, raising my children, and building a business from the ground up has required faith, perseverance, and countless prayers.

Today, I look back with a grateful heart. God has been faithful every step of the way. He has opened doors I could never have opened on my own and has placed incredible people in my path; clients, friends, mentors, and supporters -who have trusted me, encouraged me, and helped make this journey possible.

Real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes to me. It’s about serving others with integrity, building lasting relationships, and being a blessing wherever God leads me.

To everyone who has supported my business, referred a friend, trusted me with one of life’s biggest decisions, or simply prayed for me, -THANK YOU!
You have been part of this testimony.

I don’t take any of it for granted. All glory belongs to God, and I look forward to continuing to serve my community with excellence, compassion, and faith.

Here’s to the journey, the lessons, and everything God has in store next. ❤️🏡

Without clear boundaries, you can feel stretched thin, responding to every rеquest, every expectation, every οpportunity.

Purpose requires discernment.

Ask before saying yes: "Will this align with my calling and peace?"

If not, politely defer.

Protecting your time isn't selfish, it's strategic. It ensures your best energy is available for work that truly matters and for relationships that matter most.

Try this: identify one commitment you can temporarily pause or delegate. Notice the shift in clarity and focus.

Your influence grows when your energy is intentionally applied, not scattered.

❤️ Imagine how different the world would be if more people looked for opportunities to help instead of reasons not to.

A simple bag of groceries may seem small to the person giving it, but it can mean everything to someone struggling to get through the week.

Kindness doesn't have to be grand to be life-changing.

Sometimes the most powerful acts are the ones done quietly, without recognition, without praise, and without expecting anything in return.
