This was one of the biggest risks and journeys of my life. I bought a house “as is” and completely renovated it from top to bottom. It was so much fun picking out the flooring, wall colors, bathroom styles, kitchen design every single detail. I wanted to keep some of the original historical character while modernizing it with fresh colors and style. In the end, it turned out beautiful.
Don’t get me wrong it was also a lot of work. Staying on top of contractors, preparing the home for the market, hosting open houses, and handling so many moving parts, taught me a lot about what to do and what not to do.
Through the process, I prayed, practiced morning meditation, learned patience, and accepted that some things are simply out of my control. When I showed the home to the buyer, I just knew she was going to make an offer. I could see it in her eyes. My whole body got hot, and my emotions were all over the place. I actually started getting attached to the house and even thought about keeping it. Now I can truly relate to how sellers feel during the selling process.
