September is NAR Safety Month. Situational Awareness for Real Estate Professionals with Autumn Clifford was offered today at Bangor Savings in Augusta. Thank you Samantha Davis of Treworgy and Baldacci for co-sponsoring the class with us. And thank you Bangor Savings for allowing us to use your space. Autumn is a fantastic instructor and gave us so much info! Are you an easy target or a hard target? Are you paying attention in public or do you have your face buried in your phone? What's your Safety Plan? Personally and Professionally? Tracking apps aren't just for your children you know-if you're doing showings or open houses someone needs to know where your are at all times. Cans or Lysol, hair spray, gel pepper spray or wasp spray need to be in your toolkit. FOREWARN! Trust your gut feelings-if it doesn't feel safe, it probably isn't. Keep a screwdriver handy in your car or even an air horn! "If this? Then what?" Have a PLAN!

Maine real estate licensees: Two important Property Disclosure updates are now in effect.

As of September 3, updates have been made to the Property Disclosure and Property Disclosure Land Only (With Improvements) forms in ZipForms:

• PFAS Testing: For residential properties supplied by a private well, sellers must disclose any water tests indicating the presence of PFAS.

• Date Fields: Dates on these two forms must now be entered manually rather than selected from a drop-down calendar—a change designed to help prevent inaccurate dates from auto-populating.

The updated forms are now available in ZipForms. Be sure you’re working with the current version and carefully review all information before completing the disclosure.
