Love my garden time at Golden Harvest Main. Such a great organization. So happy to be a small part of this outreach in the local community.

On this , we would like to highlight one of our amazing volunteers.

Jeff Wilson made the commitment to spend 40 hours volunteering at our Urban Farm at The Master's Table Soup Kitchen.

His expertise in construction and landscaping has been invaluable to us. He has helped us dismantle our old greenhouse and plot the location and needs for our new greenhouse, advised us on irrigation lines and built new raised garden beds.

Having lived in Augusta for over 30 years, Jeff believes in doing his part to help his community.

"It's very humbling to know my work helps feed people in need," he said.

Jeff was first introduced to Golden Harvest Food Bank while taking part in Leadership Augusta and the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador Committee.

"Golden Harvest speaks to me because it's such a great organization, and you're feeding people every day. It's exciting to be able to see that,” said Jeff.

We are so thankful for Jeff and all of our dedicated volunteers. With their help, we feed nearly 300,000 families annually.

Its that time of year . . . Girl Scout Cookie time that is! To celebrate during this year the girls have put a challenge out to you - move a cookie from your forehead to you mouth in under 60 seconds . . . without the use of your hands! (helpful hint - knock the cookie crumbs off first).

This video shows my success at 17.5 seconds. Of course there is a lot of luck, face scrunching and honestly a lot more than 1 try, all while laughing hysterically.

So I pass this challenge to you, and then post your success video along with - or you can donate to Girls Scouts of Historic Georgia, and don't forget to stock up on cookies for your family and friends! Good luck!
