Here’s what I’ve seen matter most after working with multiple families making this move:
🏫 School Districts: ratings, programs, and class sizes matter more than zip codes. Boundary maps are everything.
🚉 Commute Considerations: express vs. local Metra lines can change your daily life more than you’d expect.
🌳 Community Feel: walkability, weekend energy, whether you’d actually run into your neighbors. You have to feel it.

They lost it on April 1st. They got it on April 3rd. 🏡

When my buyers first saw this house in West Chicago, they weren’t even pre-approved yet. They loved it so much they sprinted to get their financing in order and came back ready.

We submitted the offer. And on April 1st… we got the call. Rejected.

They were heartbroken. But we kept going. New appointments. New searches. Heads down.

Then the seller called back.

The original deal had fallen through. Were my buyers still interested?

They absolutely were. 🤍

April 3rd — accepted.

These buyers moved all the way from California to be closer to their family. This home had the location AND checked every single box. It was always meant to be theirs.

Sometimes the universe just needs a little time to work things out. Trust the process. 🏠✨

Sometimes the universe just has other plans. 🤍
My buyers didn’t get this one the first time around. They were disappointed — and honestly, so was I. But we kept the faith.
Then the phone rang.
The seller reached back out. Things hadn’t worked out with the original buyer. Were we still interested?
We absolutely were.
That’s the thing about this process — it’s not always linear. Sometimes the home that was meant for you just needs a little time to find its way back.
