After one year with Farnsworth Offices, Midland Publication is making great use of their office space. Their group came to us with a clear vision for their suite which included the build out of two more offices. Our team was able to build to their specifications and did so within budget and on-time. Thank you Java Plus for coming to our lobby this morning! Our staff and tenants enjoyed the Java Plus hot air roasted House Blend and the Java Plus long john, a chocolate glazed delight sprinkled with a finely ground Kenya coffee bean. Farnsworth Offices enjoys finding creative ways to connect with other local businesses like Java Plus. It was a great way to start out our day! Pictured below are owners Javier Burgos and Dan Okoniewski. Java Plus is a coffee and tea house located in Aurora, IL. This is the first year we get to wish our very own Daisy DeLira a Happy Veterans Day! Here is a picture of Daisy practicing jumps at Fort Carson Army base. Daisy took part in many Airborne Operations throughout her time in the service at Fort Carson, CO from 2014 to 2019 with the 10th Special Forces Group, Group Support Battalion. Daisy is our receptionist and Administrative Assistant.

Maintenance guru by day and metal sculptor by night. I am speaking of Jim Jenkins who has led our maintenance department for over ten years. Soon after I began working here, I learned that Jim was the artist who sculpted the ring-like structure called the Deus Ex Machina/Ego Eigenstate just outside the main door of the Santori Aurora Public library. Today, if you visit the Aurora Public Art’s Gallery, you can see some of Jim’s other sculptures and also works by Lindsay Olson and Georgia Schwender. The Exhibition, which runs through September 25, is called “Accelerating Inspiration Art from Fermilab.” The piece pictured here is called Quench. A Quench occurs when a magnet in a particle accelerator loses its superconductivity. The sound made by this process was captured by Derek Plant of Fermilab in the 1990’s. It may be the only sound of Quench ever recorded. Jim’s interpretation of this event is extremely imaginative and entertaining. Much of what Jim used to fabricate the piece is scrap material repurposed and reimagined as sculptural elements. The list of materials used to create this work is a story all of its own!
