🏡 WHAT IF YOU COULD TAKE YOUR 3% MORTGAGE RATE WITH YOU?! 🤯

That’s the idea behind the proposed MOVE Act (H.R. 10028) and it could be a BIG deal for the housing market.

Right now, millions of homeowners are sitting on historically low mortgage rates. They might WANT to move… but giving up that 3% or 4% rate for today’s rate can be a tough pill to swallow.

🔑 Enter: Portable Mortgages

The idea is that you could potentially sell your current home and transfer the interest rate, terms AND remaining balance of your mortgage to your next home.

Sounds amazing, right?

Well… there’s a GOOD, BAD & UGLY. 👇

🟢 THE GOOD:
It could help unlock homeowners who feel trapped by their low mortgage rates and potentially bring more inventory to the market.

🟡 THE BAD:
This is only a proposed bill right now. It is NOT law, and it doesn’t automatically make every mortgage portable.

🔴 THE UGLY:
There are still some BIG unanswered questions about additional financing, underwriting, appraisals and, most importantly, whether existing low-rate mortgages would actually qualify.

So no… don’t start packing up your 3% mortgage just yet. 😂

But this is absolutely something worth watching because if lawmakers can figure out the details, it could change the conversation around buying and selling a home.
