HALLELUJAH! 🙌 Is I-270 FINALLY getting fixed?!
If you’ve ever driven I-270 through Commerce City, you probably understand my excitement. 😂

CDOT officially broke ground on the long-awaited $806 MILLION overhaul of I-270 — including new express lanes, replacement of 12 aging bridges, a rebuilt Vasquez interchange, and improvements to ramps and other infrastructure.

Considering this stretch carries 100,000+ vehicles a day, I think we can all agree this has been a LONG time coming.

The bad news? We’re going to have to survive the construction first. 😬 The project will be completed in phases, with the first phase expected in 2030 and the entire project projected to wrap up in 2033.

So here's today's local question:

Who else absolutely HATES driving I-270?! 🙋‍♀️

And more importantly…

What Denver-area road or interchange do you think is THE WORST to drive?

Or is there another one that deserves the title? 😂

🎬 Another longtime Aurora favorite is saying goodbye! 🍿

Movie Tavern on Hampden Avenue is reportedly closing its doors on October 31st!

For years, this has been a go-to spot for Aurora residents to enjoy dinner and a movie, date nights, family outings, and those affordable Tuesday movie tickets!

It's always sad to see a familiar neighborhood business close, especially one that's been part of the community for so long.

👀 Aurora friends, we want to hear from you!

🍻 Changes are coming to Parker! The Tailgate has officially been sold! Entrepreneur Chris Potter, who also owns Sports Lounge Off Broadway, Crimson and Gold Tavern, and The Fainting Goat Pub, is the new owner of this longtime Parker hangout.

It's always interesting to see changes happening in our local community, especially when it comes to places Parker residents know and love!

🚨 Aurora’s Data Center Boom — What Homeowners Should Know

If you live in Aurora, especially on the east side, data centers are something worth paying attention to.

The proposed Trident Data Center near E-470 & E. 48th Avenue would bring a massive data center campus close to existing and developing neighborhoods.

And now there's another, even larger proposal taking shape east of The Aurora Highlands, approximately 500 acres with plans that currently include about 1 million square feet of data center space.

So what could all of this mean for Aurora homeowners?

🏡 Home values: Could being close to a large data center affect buyer demand or resale values?

⚡ Utility bills: These facilities require enormous amounts of electricity. Xcel says its proposed Large Load Tariff is designed to make large users pay their own way rather than pass those costs on to residential customers, but it's an issue worth watching.

💧 Water: Aurora has now banned evaporative cooling in new large buildings, and Trident says it plans to use a closed-loop cooling system that uses substantially less water.

🔊 Quality of life: Noise, backup generators, lighting, traffic and how close these facilities can be to homes are all part of the conversation.

There can also be benefits including tax revenue, construction jobs and economic investment, so I think it's important that we look at both the benefits and the potential impacts on homeowners.

Their Wh***ey Barrel-Aged Coffee is SO good — notes of oak, vanilla & warm spice, but no alcohol!

Even better? The people. Wes and his team are constantly giving back through fundraisers, free coffee on 9/11, toy drives and more. Great coffee, great food & a business that truly cares about its community. ❤️🇺🇸

🥈 Number 2 — Legends Coffee | Southlands
Some of my favorite coffee around — smooth, never burnt, and they make an AMAZING cappuccino. ☕️

And YES, there’s a difference between a cappuccino and a latte. 😂

Bonus: get the loaded avocado toast. 👌

🥉 Number 3 — Convict Coffee | Parker
Great coffee with an even better mission — supporting programs that keep kids out of trouble and creating second-chance opportunities. ❤️

My order? Cold brew over PEBBLE ICE. 😂 On a hot Colorado day… perfection.

Coffee AND cocktails?! Say less. 😂

They have cold brew, creative house-made syrups and cocktails when coffee hour turns into happy hour. 🍹
