Austin's housing market has been hot, competitive, seller-leaning. Home prices have shot up but, relative to other major cities median home prices remain significantly lower. Texas also is a state without personal income taxes. These factors and others more obvious, like the influx of major tech companies and the job opportunities that have resulted, have prompted institutional investors to turn their attention to Austin's commercial real estate.
