“Love at first sight? Can it really last? Our story says YES! -its a long story - short version
On April 11, 1985, I reluctantly went dancing with friends and met the love of my life. We danced for 4 hours and closed the place down, and I knew that night - he was the one! I told my mom as soon as I got home, and the rest is history.
We dated for 2 weeks, got engaged, and had to wait a year for the big day (thanks, to my mom- having 6 brothers meant mine was the only one she got to plan!). We had the biggest wedding I think I have ever been to and I didn’t know half the people there.
We’ve been through - for better, for worse - for richer, for poorer - in sickness and in health and what keeps us together?
1. God (even though we didn’t know Him like we do now, He was always there)
2. Commitment (no divorce option for us!)
3. Communication (talking it out)
4. Keeping the spark alive (dating each other)
Today marks 40 years since we met, and April 18th will be 39 years since we said “I do.” We’ve been blessed with two amazing daughters, a SIL, FSIL and a family that’s full of love, laughter, and adventure. Our friends who have become family is an additional blessing of Framily
Of course, there have been tough times, but our vow to stick together “til death do us part” has kept us strong. If you’re looking for a love story that stands the test of time, we hope ours inspires you!
